The image above shows a more complex , but probably more effective , team-based SBHP rescue .
An adjustable haul system and lowering device have been installed between a suitable anchor and a redirect pulley placed on the boom swivel or on the outrigger leg of the rescue boom . This will allow the ground team to assist with either lifting or lowering the casualty if needed . The redirect pulley must be in the same vertical plane as the boom to avoid sideloading the boom .
The belay line is also set to be controlled from a ground-anchor .
Lifting and lowering rescues will be easy with this setup . The rescuer need only attach the lines to the casualty and disconnect the casualty ’ s system for the rescue to be performed .
A conscious casualty should also be able to attach the lines to themselves and disconnect their own system once they have been lifted .
