Canopy anchor examples
Each rope secured independently at anchor ( s ) with running double bowline with a tie-off or stopper knot or running Figure-8 .
Easy way to install if anchor point will be advanced .
Cannot be remotely retrieved or uninstalled .
The setup shown on the left uses a running alpine butterfly in each line .
This method secures one side of the line for climbing and leaves the other side to be used to retrieve the system when the rescue is completed .
Using this method requires additional rope length ( 3x the height of the anchor ) and makes it much harder to advance the system to a higher union if the final tie-in-point has not been achieved .
