1.1.2 Turnout resource requirements
It is critical to ensure that adequate and relevant resources are dispatched to tree incidents . Resources may include :
Rescue response resources :
• Vertical rescue crew and appliance .
• Aerial rescue appliance , e . g ., elevated rescue platform , ladder or Combination Aerial Pumping Appliance .
• Additional non-specialist crew for personnel resources .
• Command and control resources .
• Specialist resources within brigade or recall availability .
• ‘ Tree-trained ’ VR team members .
Third-party resources :
• Police
• Vertical rescue-trained paramedic
• Intensive care ( or mobile intensive care ambulance ) paramedic
• Power company ( to drop or isolate service lines or network conductors )
• Support from secondary rescue services who have specialist capacity to perform tree-climbing rescues . Consider requesting support from these agencies in any tree rescue circumstances .
