1.1 Tree rescue process

Describes a tree rescue in sequential order , including dispatch , size-up , risk assessment and planning .
1.1.1 Dispatch
Tree worker incidents can be extremely complicated . Accidents may involve suspended workers , suspended loads , compromised trees and hazardous sites .
It is critical for any responding agency to gather as much intelligence as possible to ensure that the response is adequate for the accident .
The accident shown in the image above will require an extremely challenging rescue ,
particularly if wet ground prevents access for aerial rescue appliances .
The panicked , incoherent description of the situation would be familiar to any emergency control room operator . Crucial information that will be necessary for a successful rescue has been omitted by the caller and must be obtained by the operator to pass on to the rescue crew .
